Amritsar police arrested a juvenile with 15 kg heroin,Rs 8.40 lakh drug money recovered

Resham Singh, the mastermind of trans border drug smuggling is on the run and being nabbed by the police.

The Amritsar police have arrested a juvenile and claimed to have recovered 15 kg of heroin and Rs 8.40 lakh drug money from his possession.
"In an intelligence led operation , counter intelligence unit Amritsar has arrested a juvenile and recovered 15 kg of heroin from his possession besides Rs 8.4 lakh drug money from him at a naka on Ram Tirath road, Amritsar," informed Gaurav Yadav,DGP Punjab in a tweet this afternoon.
The DGP has further said that the mastermind of the trans border smuggling racket,Resham Singh is on the run  and being nabbed.
An FIR no 6 under section21/85/29/61/85 of NDPS has been registered against the accused at police station SSOC Amritsar.
He said that the Punjab police is committed to drug free Punjab as per the vision of the Punjab chief minister.
The arrest of the juvenile with a huge cache of heroin and drug money points to the involvement of the juveniles in the drug smuggling now.
The master minds of the drug rackets have now allegedly started using juveniles to transport drugs.
The statement of the Punjab governor Banwari lal Purohit that his biggest worry was that the use of drugs is not limited to the adults but that the state's young, including the schoolchildren, have also fallen prey had led to the criticism of his statement by AAP government, which alleged that the governor was meddling with state affairs.
The governor had given this statement during a tour of the border districts of Punjab a few days ago.
