The Lohian Khas police arrested a villager on the charge of assaulting a man.
The investigating officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jasbir Singh a resident of Khosa village.
Karam Singh a resident of Yusaf Pur Dare Wal village complained to the police that the accused and his unidentified accomplices including women waylaid his nephew Harpreet Singh and attacked him with weapons and y injured him and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said that a case under sections 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 341(wrongful restraint),506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
