The Lohian Khas police have arrested a Kaputhala villager on the charge of breach of trust and cheating charges.
The investigating officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Mittar Singh son of Karnal Singh, a Ucha Boharr Wala village in Kapurthala..
Mukhtar Singh a resident of Nasire Wal village had complained to the Jalandhar (rural) superintendent of police that the accused and his brother had signed an agreement with him to sell their 15 marlas plot situated in Lohian Khas and received an amount of Rs 15 lakhs from him as advance money but did not register a sale deed and cheated him.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused and his brother after an inquiry.
