Recovers 265 cartoons of fake mineral water
Kapurthala. Jan.30 ; Food & today, sealed a fake beverage factory situated in Kapurthala City and was engaged in the business of packaged drinking water without the mandatory BIS (Bureau of Indian Standard) Certificate & the FSSAI license, issued by the department.
The team was headed by Dr. Harjot Pal Singh, Assistant Commissioner alongwith Mukul Gill, FSO, raided the factory and recovered Cartons of packaged drinking water 265 Each containing 24 cups of 200 ml each, empty cases 11 of 4500 empty material i.e. cups to be packed, 2 Machines installed for packing of water along with other material to be used in packing & sealing. The premise was sealed after the team took one sample of packaged drinking water. Instructions were given to the owner not to tamper with the seal and not to start the business without obtaining the BIS Certificate and FSSAI License, under intimation to the department.
As per regulation 2.3.4 of Prohibition & Restriction Sale Regulations of Food Safety & Standards Act, 2011, no one can manufacture or sale packaged drinking water without the mandatory BIS Certificate (Bureau of Indian Standard Certification)
The team today took in all 12 sample of Milk, Desi Ghee, Red Chilli Powder, Haldi Powder, Gur and Shakar.
All the samples will be sent to the State Food Laboratory, Kharar and further legal action will be initiated as per the report of analysis.
