The Nakodar city police have identified and arrested an SUV driver on the charge of causing death by negligence, rash driving on a public road, and mischief.
The Investigating officer(IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Lovpreet Singh son of Surindar Singh a resident of Sarihn village
Santosh Kumar wife of late Sonu a resident Sidham Station Wale village had complained to the police that her husband was returning home after completing his work at Nakodar. When he reached near Agarwal Pastry store on the Nurmahal road a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV)(PB-10-CJ-4666) coming from the Nurmahal side being driven very fast and negligently by its driver hit Somu’s motorcycle was seriously injured and succumbed to his injuries in Nakodar civil hospital.
The investigating officer said that a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) 279(rash driving on a public way) 337,338(causing grievous hurt to any person by doing any act rashly or negligently to endanger human life, or the personal safety of others ..) and 427(mischief) of the IPC was registered against SUV driver
