Kapurthala: four persons including Punjab police constable killed and one seriously injured in a collision between Innova car and unidentified heavy vehicle near village Hamira on Jalandhar-Amritsar national highway on Wednesday midnight .
The deceased have been identified as police constable Hardev Singh, Harjit Singh and Jatinder kumar all residents of Beas and Lovely of village Jandiala Guru falling in Amritsar .the seriously injured Karan of Beas has been admitted in a private hospital at Jalandhar.
Subhanpur police station ASI Lakhwinder Singh who is investigating the case told media persons that all the occupants of Innova car were coming from Amritsar side around 2:30 am on Wednesday when a speeding truck trailer hit the Innova car resulting in insteaneous death of four occupants and seriously injured fifth occupant.
The driver of truck trailer fled away after the accident .police has registered a case under section 304 IPC against the driver who absconded with truck .
The police said all the occupants were coming to Jalandhar from Jandiala Guru when the accident occurred.
