Twenty-five booked for attempt to murder, firing

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked twenty-five persons on the charges of attempt to murder and firing.

The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police -post in charge Nirmal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Surjit Singh alias Baba a resident of Dane Wal village, Indarjit Singh a resident of Dhando Wal village, Laddu Hundal a resident of Mehat Pur and Sukhpreet Grewal a resident of Shahla Pur village and their twenty-one unidentified accomplices.

Arash Deep Singh a resident of Fakhru Wal village complained to the police that he along with his two friends Vinod Kumar and Rajwindar Singh residents of Shahkot went to Malsian village on an invitation from Gurwindar Singh alias Ginda a resident of Model Town colony Malsian and were participating in a discussion to resolve a dispute of Ginda with another person near the house of Ginda on January 4 when the accused traveling in three vehicles and motorcycles reached on the spot and started quarreling with them and opened fire at them from three pistols and injured them seriously as gunshots pieced their body parts and relatives of Ganda rushed them to the civil hospital.

 

IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder)336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act have been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and further investigations are on. IO said Harjindar Singh Jinda a resident of  Malsian village was also injured in the firing resorted by other party
