Nakodar Sadar police suffer acute staff shortage, only 55 personnel manning police station, two police posts.

The Nakodar Sadar police are reeling under an acute staff shortage. There are only 55 police personnel
against a sanctioned strength of 106 personnel.
It has one sanctioned post of inspector, which is lying vacant. Of the 14 posts of head constables, 12 are vacant. Of the 80 posts of constables, 49 are lying vacant. It has two police posts at Uggi village and Shankar village, which are manned by 5 and 7 police personnel, respectively. Sources said Home Guards volunteers were doing the job of constables, and patrolling had been reduced, and investigations were suffering.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police Sukhpal Singh said that the strength is adequate as per norms set by Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police for each police station.
