Punjab International Folk Music and Dance Festival : Conglomeration of World folklores

Ludhiana: Nov 20,2022  Punjab International Folk Music and Dance Festival-2022 was organized by Ishmeet Singh Music Institute in collaboration with Punjab Cultural Promotion Council India on November 17, 2022.

At the outset, Dr. Charan Kamal Singh, Director, Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, welcomed the audience and emphasized that smile and emotions are the language of humanism which is why the institute is always looking forward to host such international cultural exchange events which not only depict diversity but also helps in bringing people from different countries together, spreading a positive message of comradeship.  He further added that he is grateful towards Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina, Festival Director, for co-ordinating such colourful and fascinating events at Ishmeet Singh Music Institute.

Ms. Nikki Kohli, ward and media Co-ordinator, Aam Aadmi Party, was the Chief Guest of the gala event.

A delegation from Colombia named 'Puerta De Oro De Colombia' in which 13 members named  Rosmy, Danny Joel, Airy, Nictec Nallely, Alixs Tahia, Arby, Julio, William Javier, Lizeth Sarina, Juan Manuel, Javier Alberto, Diana Carolina, Milena Esther and Jose Manuel who belonged to Spain, Argentina and Colombia, gave mesmerizing dance performances and left the audience awestruck.

Students of the Institute Diwanshu, Lavisha, Manubir, Divam also gave singing performances. Dance students of the institute also gave Kathak, Hip Hop and Bhangra performances.

Ms. Kohli appreciated the role of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute in cultural uplifting of the society. She was very impressed with all the performances and said such cultural programs must be organized from time to time as it gives immense exposure to the students and future dancers.  

Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina, Festival Director was grateful to Ishmeet Singh Music Institute for organizing the event. He said that the Punjab Cultural Promotion Council is striving to bring world culture together on one platform by organizing such inter-cultural folk events. He further added that such events strengthen ties between different countries and spread a message of unity and peace.

In the end, 'Puerta De Oro De Colombia and Ishmeet Singh Music Institute exchanged souvenirs for commemoration. Dean of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Nazima Bali thanked the audience for their gracious presence and program ended on a very memorable note.
