The Nakodar sadar police have arrested a villager and booked another on the charge of stealing a coin box from a village gurdwara.
The investigating officer (IO) Sanjivan Singh said that the accused had been identified as Sunni Sahota son of Balbir a resident of Dhaliwal village.
IO said that the accused and his accomplice has stolen a coin box from Dhaliwal village gurdwara on November 12.
IO said that a case under sections 454(lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and Gopi son of Bagga a resident of Dhaliwal village.
The Shahkot police also booked thieves for stealing boxes of readymade garments from a shop of Amarprit Singh in the main bazar on November 16 night said, IO Harbhajan Lal.
The Nakodar city police also booked unidentified thieves for stealing materials from a sheller owned by Davinder Sandhu Nurmahal said IO Ranjit Singh.
