NRI travel agent among two booked for duping ex police officer of Rs. 3.13 lakhs

 

NURMAHAL

The Nurmahal police has booked an NRI travel agent and his accomplice, on charges of duping a retired assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Punjab police of Rs 3 .13 lakh on the pretext of sending his son abroad.

Investigating Officer (IO)Gurnam Singh    said that the accused have been identified as Amrinder Singh Atwal director See link Immigration Services Brampton Cananda and a native of Phagwara in Kapurthala and his accomplice Sukaran Pathak son of Avinash Chandar a resident of ward no 5, Nurmahal.

Lawindar Kumar a retired ASI and resident of Basti Sheikh, Jalandhar complained to Punjab Chief Minster Bhagwant Singh Mann that he had paid Rs 3.13,826 to the accused for facilitating his son ‘s migration to Canada. He said in his complaint that earlier he had complained to Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of police   which was transferred to commissioner of police Jalandhar but of no avail.

Director General of Punjab police marked this complaint to   Superintendent of Police (HQ) Jalandhar (rural) who inquired and found that the complaint ‘s son was not sent abroad nor returned   his money.

 

Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of police ordered the Nurmahal police to register a case against the accused
