Faridkot: A Marathon race was arranged in the district town Faridkot onWednesday to commemorate the 115th birth anniversary of Shahed Bhagat Singh today.
The slow race was joined by more than 1200 volunteers today from various organizations.
The Marathon took off from the Nehru Stadium and ended at the same place by running past the Sethi Dairy,Kamiana Chowk, Bus stand, Jubilee chowk and Bhai Kanhaiya Chowk Faridkot.
A police party gave salute to the photo of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and besides it, a video and audio speech of the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann was played during the occasion.
The attendance was given the message of the unity and integrity of the country as it was conceived by the freedom fighters of India like Bhagat Singh.
DC Faridkot, Ruhee Dugg, Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon and Sadhu Singh,SSP Rajpal Singh Sandhu and former AAP MP Sadhu Singh addressed the audience and appreciated their participation.
The winners of the marathon were awarded with honours.
