Faridkot: Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha has donated Rs 3 lakh to Mahant Baba Jarnail Singh youth club in village Dhilwan Kalan.
“Though Baba Jarnail Singh is no more among us, yet his great service towards the humanity and selfless service to Gurudwara Patshahi Dasvin located in village Dhilwan Kalan will stand a guiding spirit to us,” said Kultar Singh Sandhwan, speaking on the occasion.
“Sardar Sandhwan had promised to donate the said amount to Mahant Baba Jarnail Singh youth club and today he has fulfilled his promise. We are highly thankful to Sandhwan,” said Sukhjeet Singh Dhilwan, district president of AAP Faridkot.
It is pertinent to mention that Jarnail Singh was a great devotee to the historical Gurdwara located in village Dhilwan Kalan.
He, most of life, remained aloof to worldly affairs and served the people bare feet.
Thousands of devotees used to visit the historical shrine due to his great service.
“But in the last days of life, the historical Gudwara was taken over by SGPC and Mahant Jarnail Singh dedicated his last days of life to the service of God at his ancestral place,” said Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal, an office bearer of AAP Faridkot.
"Our village was saved from the drugs due to the most of the great devotion of the people towards Baba Jarnail Singh, Most of our youth visited the Gurdwara Sahib regularly in the evening ,particularly in the winter season to perform seva when the regular path of hundreds and one of Sri Guru Granth Sahib(Ikotri) was on every year," said Jaswinder Singh, a resident of village Dhilwan Kalan, currently living in Canada.
