JALANDHAR

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agrawal today, during an emergency meeting convened with officials, directed them to provide compensation to farmers for crop losses caused by recent floods within one week. Presiding over the meeting at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials to ensure that farmers—especially those in the Shahkot area—who suffered crop losses due to flooding, receive compensation within a week so that timely relief may be provided to them. Dr. Agrawal also reviewed the progress of the “Ground Truthing” work being carried out in 115 villages of the district under the “Mera Ghar Mere Naam” scheme. Under this scheme, revenue officials (Patwaris) are conducting door-to-door surveys in the identified villages to mark and identify houses falling within the “Lal Lakeer” (red line) boundary, so that the required process can be completed and ownership rights may be conferred upon eligible families. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that the ongoing “Ground Truthing” work is completed by November 3 under all circumstances, so that ownership rights can be provided to people residing within the Lal Lakeer areas. While reviewing the progress of the Digital Crop Survey (Online Girdawari), the Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials to accelerate the pace of work and complete it within five days. He informed that the digital crop survey is being conducted in around 600 villages of the district. He also appealed to farmers to cooperate with officials of the revenue department to ensure smooth and successful completion of this survey. Emphasizing timely delivery of services related to the Revenue Department, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the officers to resolve cases of mutation (Intkaal), partition (Takseem), record updates (Jamabandis), and demarcation (Nishandehi) promptly and in a time-bound manner without any delay. In addition, he directed officials to give priority to matters related to revenue recovery. During the meeting, he also reviewed the functioning of the E-Registration and E-Jamabandi systems. Highlighting the Punjab Government’s Zero-Tolerance Policy against Corruption, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that common citizens must receive all revenue-related services in a transparent, hassle-free, and time-bound manner without facing any inconvenience. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur, SDMs Vivek Kumar Modi, Randeep Singh Heer, Lal Vishwas Bains, and Shubhi Angra, District Revenue Officer Navdeep Singh Bhogal, and other officials of the Revenue Department.
