The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a villager for stealing cash from Gurdwara.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kulwindar Singh said the accused had been identified as Karandeep Singh son of Satifan Singh a resident of Kang Sahibu village.
Gurnam Das a resident of the same village and president of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj Dharamshala complained to the police that the accused broke open locks and stole Rs 1500 from the cash box kept in the gurdwara and was identified from CCTV footage.
IO said a case under sections 331(4) (lurking house-trespass) and 305(theft in a dwelling house) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and recovered the stolen amount from his possession.
