Under the aegis of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, Doaba College organized a discussion on the topic of migration of the youth of Punjab to foreign countries and the solution to this problem. Ten senior cadets participated in the discussion. The cadets expressed their views on the reasons behind the migration of youth from Punjab in the last two decades and the effective measures taken by the government and society to stop this. The chief guest of the discussion was Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, Principal, of Doaba College judged the competition. The program began with a short informative video about the National Defence Academy. Later, all participants expressed their views within four minutes. Chief Guest Colonel Joshi emphasized 'Make in India', 'Vocal for Local', and 'Made in India' and linked education with employment to increase opportunities for youth. He said that developed countries are turning to India and setting up many industries in India. India is the fifth largest economy in the world which will become the third largest economy in the next two decades. The migration percentage has decreased in the last one year. Col. Joshi felicitated NCC cadets who excelled in various NCC activities and camps by presenting them trekking suits, commanding officer certificates and NCC coffee mugs. Cadet Sonali got the first prize, Senior Under Officer Nitish got the second prize and Chhvi Sharma got the third prize in the discussion. They were given a certificate and a medal. Colonel Vinod Joshi thanked the Principal of Doaba College for providing a conducive environment for the development of the NCC cadets.
