The Nurmahal police have arrested a migrant charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Saini said that the accused has been identified as Raju, son of Ram Fal, a native of UP who is presently living in Shamsha Bad village.
Ram Gopal a resident of UP and brother of deceased Jugari Devi complained to the police that his sister’s marriage was solemnised with the accused eighteen years ago and both migrated to Punjab in search of work.
The Complaint said that his brother in laws is a drunkard and used to torture her sister adding that on October 11 late evening, the accused in an abbreviated condition assaulted his sister mercilessly and seriously injured her who breathed her last in Jalandhar Civil Hospital on October 12
Ram Gopal said his brother-in-law is responsible for his sister’s death and action should be taken against him as per law.
SHO said a case under section 105(culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and ASI Resham Singh is conducting further investigation.
