JALANDHAR

The Jalandhar Rural Police has made comprehensive arrangements for the peaceful conduct of Panchayat elections scheduled for tomorrow. A total of 921 booths across 688 polling locations will be under tight security, with more than 2,500 police personnel deployed to ensure a fair and smooth polling process throughout the district.

Each subdivision is being managed by SP-rank officers, with DSPs and SHOs overseeing security operations at their respective locations. Special teams have been stationed in sensitive and vulnerable areas to maintain law and order. Patrolling units will monitor key locations, ensuring close supervision throughout the polling day.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh has personally conducted inspections at multiple locations to ensure all preparations are in place. Flag marches were conducted in various areas to demonstrate police presence and instill public confidence. Preventive measures have been taken against individuals suspected of attempting to disrupt the election process.

Additionally, traffic management around polling stations has been streamlined to ensure smooth voter movement. The Jalandhar Rural Police is also coordinating closely with the Election Commission to ensure effective implementation of security protocols. Polling stations identified as critical have been given special attention, with intensified surveillance and security to prevent any untoward incidents.

The police urge the public to exercise their voting rights freely and responsibly. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police for prompt action.

Then divulging details to the press, SSP  Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said, “More than 2,500 police officers have been deployed, and all necessary security measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful election process tomorrow. Our teams are fully prepared, and we encourage voters to participate without fear, knowing their safety is our priority.”
