JALANDHAR
In a bid to enhance law and order in rural areas, Jalandhar Rural Police have reinforced their emergency response capabilities by inducting 20 newly renovated Rapid Rural Response Vehicles (RRRV) into their fleet. These vehicles, upgraded mechanically and with fresh denting and painting, were dedicated to the rural areas today after being flagged off following the General Parade. The new fleet is expected to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement in remote parts of the district.
SSP Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh told the media that the district has been divided into 20 zones to ensure swift response times during emergencies. These RRRVs are designed to be the first line of response for a variety of situations, including 112 emergency calls, traffic congestion, VIP movements, and the protection of religious sites and critical infrastructure.
“By deploying these vehicles in rural areas, we are minimizing response times and ensuring that Station House Officers (SHOs) can focus more on investigations and detections. The separation of law-and-order duties at each police station will lead to more efficient handling of cases and community safety,” said SSP Khakh.
The induction of these 20 RRRVs complements the six Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) vehicles that are already operational along the main national highways. While the SSF will continue to oversee highway safety, the newly introduced vehicles will focus on the district’s interior, ensuring a balanced approach to law enforcement throughout Jalandhar’s rural regions.
Before the official flag-off ceremony, a comprehensive briefing was provided to all members of the Rapid Rural Response teams. The SSP emphasized the importance of discipline, physical fitness, and attentiveness to their duties. “These vehicles and their teams are vital in handling the law and order of rural areas. Their role in assisting with emergency calls, traffic issues, and security will be crucial in ensuring public safety,” SSP Khakh added.
With the introduction of these 20 vehicles, the Jalandhar Rural Police aim to enhance community safety, reduce response times, and streamline the law enforcement process across the district.
