JALANDHAR
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal visited Lamma Pind and Dhogri Roads today to review the road projects' ongoing construction.
During his visit, he directed the concerned officers to expedite the widening and construction of Lamma Pind-Jandu Singha Road and Dhogri Roads, ensuring their completion within the given timeframe.
Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the urgent need to complete these projects at the earliest to benefit many commuters who use these roads daily.
He particularly highlighted the significance of the 5-kilometer stretch of Lamma Pind-Jandu Singha Road wherein he directs the officials of PSPCL to shift electricity poles immediately so that the widening of this road can be completed timely. He also stated that completion of this project will facilitate traffic flow between Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur as many commuters from the city area will be able to take this route without going to Rama Mandi for their travel to Hoshiarpur.
He also took stock of the laying of a water supply pipeline at 9 kilo meter long stretch of Dhogri Road, which was mainly used by the local industrialists.
He also highlighted that its construction would facilitate the smoother movement of commercial vehicles, thereby boosting industrial activities in the area. He asked the contractors and officials of PWD to accelerate the pace of this project for smooth traffic flow.
The DC stressed the importance of completing maximum work of these projects before the rainy season to prevent further deterioration of the roads. “Any kind of inordinate delay in the repairing of these roads would be highly unwarranted,” Dr. Aggarwal stated, underscoring the critical nature of timely completion.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that “he will be personally monitoring the pace of these works”.
Officials from PSPCL, Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and PWD were also present on the spot.
