The Shahkot police have booked four persons including a woman on the charges of murder and conspiracy.
Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Saini said that the accused have been identified as Inderjit Kaur wife of Malkit Ram a resident of Parjian Khurd village, her sons Tirath Ram and Sarabjit alias Saabi and Sukhjit Singh son of Jaswinder Singh a resident of the same village.
SHO said that the accused murdered Lakhvir Singh, a resident of Parjian Khurd village.
Jaswinder Kaur wife of Kewal Singh a resident of Parjian Khurd village complained to the police that Inderjit Kaur and Sukhjit Singh used abusive language against her father in -law Lakhvir Singh on June 30 morning and instigated Tirath Ram and Sarabjit alias Saabi to attacked him with weapons and seriously injured and murdered him.
The complainant said that a land dispute was the reason behind the attack on her father-in-law.
SHO said that a case under sections 302(murder) 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
