The Jalandhar (rural) police on Wednesday ay destroyed drugs seized under the NDPS Act by various police stations.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doctor Ankur Gupta in a press release said that the drugs seized in cases under the NDPS Act were destroyed in a fire on the premises of Green Plant Energy Private Limited, Beer Pind village.
He said that destroyed drugs included 91 kilograms and 060 grams of poppy husk,40 grams of intoxicant powder,2 kilograms and 558 grams of heroin, 530 intoxicant tablets, and 136 capsules.
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Dr Ankur Gupta and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
