The Shahkot police have booked a youth on the charge of kidnapping a minor.
The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in charge Kewal r Singh said that the accused had been identified as Salim alias Simur a resident of Malsian village.
Karanjit Kaur wife of Sohan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused kidnapped her minor daughter on June 22 by inducing on the pretext of marriage.
IO said that a case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366-A (procuration of minor girl) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
