DC reviews feasibility survey for additional attachment at PAP Chowk

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal reviewed the progress of the ongoing feasibility survey to construct an additional attachment to ease commuter traffic towards Amritsar from Jalandhar city, allowing them to bypass Rama Mandi Chowk and the PAP Railway Crossing.

Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the importance of expediting the feasibility survey, and preparation of drawing and instructed the concerned departments to complete it promptly.

He stressed that timely completion of this ongoing survey is crucial for initiating the project at the earliest, aiming to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed officials to expedite the pace of ongoing National Highway projects in the Jalandhar District.

In a review meeting with all stakeholders, Dr. Aggarwal reviews the disbursal of awards to landowners by the Competent Authority of Land Acquisition (CALA). He also reviewed the progress of land possession, urging the CALAs to hand over possession of land to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) promptly.

The DC also emphasized the importance of completing these ongoing projects within the stipulated timelines and set specific deadlines for the CALAs to achieve various tasks, including disbursement of payments and land possession.

He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all officials to ensure the timely completion of these projects.

The review covered several key ongoing projects, including the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur Highway, Amritsar-Bathinda Greenfield projects, and the Hoshiarpur-Phagwara Bypass Project. These projects are crucial for improving connectivity and boosting economic development in the region.

The review meeting was aimed at overcoming any bottlenecks and accelerating the pace of the ongoing highway projects. He issued various directives to streamline the processes, ensuring that land acquisition and related formalities were completed swiftly.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the importance of these projects and urged all stakeholders to work diligently and collectively.
