 The Shahkot police have booked a villager on the charge of outraging the religious feelings co-villager.

Investigating officer (IO) Gurnam Singh said that the accused has been identified as Amrit Pal Singh son of Malkit Singh a resident of Bau Pur Khurd village near here.

Tarlochan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he was ploughing his land when the accused came there stopped his tractor dragged him onto the ground removed his turban adding that the accused caught his hair and uprooted his beard hair and attacked him with some sharp-edged weapon and seriously injured and threatened him.  

IO said a case under sections 295 (Injuring or defiling a place of worship, with intent to insult the religion of any class),323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC have been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
