JALANDHAR

The Criminal Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Jalandhar (rural) police has arrested two migrant drug peddlers on charges of selling opium.

CIA in charge Pushap Bali said the accused have been identified as Shahid Ali and Samir Ahmad residents of Uttar Pradesh and 1 kilogram of opium was recovered from their possession  

 Bali said that a case under sections 18-B/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Patara police station.   

 In another case, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Punjab Police Jalandhar arrested an absconding drug smuggler with heroin.

Investigating Officer (IO) assistant sub-inspector of STF Jalandhar Kuldeep Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurcharan Singh alias Channu son of Karnail Singh a resident of Manjhali village under Dharam Kot police station in Moga.

 

IO said that 750 heroin were seized from the accused who is wanted in a case under 21-C/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered at STF police station SAS Nagar (Mohali) on June 22, 2024.
