The Nakodar Sadar police have booked twenty miscreants on the charges of attacking a Nurmahal villager.
Investigating officer (IO) and Shankar police post in charge Harjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gora, Pawa, Inderjit, Kala, and Manni all residents of Tahli village, Manni a resident of Sarihn village, and Rahul a resident of Chania village and their fourteen unidentified accomplices.
Harman Preet Singh a resident of Bath village under Nurmahal police station complained to the police that the accused waylaid and attacked him with dangerous weapons and injured him.
IO said a case under sections 323324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means),341(wrongful restraint), and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
