NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a man and two other members of his family on the charges of murdering his wife.

Station House Officer Jai Pal said that the accused had been identified as Amrik Singh (husband of the deceased) son of Paramjit Singh a resident of Talwandi Salen village, his mother Balwinder Kaur alias Binder, and brother Jaskaran Singh alias Jassa.

SHO said that the deceased had been identified as Rajwinder Kaur (35) wife of Amrik Singh.

Raj Kumar a resident of Udho Wal village under Mehat Pur police station complained to the police that his sister-in-law Rajwinder Kaur’s marriage was solemnized with Amrik Singh nine years ago but no child.

Raj Kumar said that the accused was harassing his sister-in-law and often quarreled with her and prominent persons in the village many times intervened, but in-laws refused to compromise and continued to harass his relative.

The complainant said the deceased came to her prenatal house on June 20 in Aalowal village and told her mother that her husband was quarreling with her too much and harassing her adding that he was also present in his in-law’s house and his mother-in-law asked Rajvinder to stay but she left saying her dairy will suffer.

Raj Kumar said that on June 22 the accused Amrik Singh phoned his wife Amarjit and told her about Rajvinder Kaur’s poor health saying he was rushing his wife to a Jalandhar clinic and disconnected the call.

The complainant said he along with his wife reached Talwandi village and found Rajwinder Kaur lying dead in her house there was a deep cut mark on her neck which indicated that his relative was strangulated and her husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law had been murdered, Rajwinder Kaur.

 

SHO said the police reached the spot recovered that body and registered a case under sections 302(murder) and 34 (committing the crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered three accused.
