The Nurmahal police have booked a villager for assaulting a woman.
Investigating Officer (IO) Amrik Lal said that the accused has been identified as Baljinder Singh son of Rawal Singh a resident of Pandori Jagir village.
Paramjit Kaur wife of Jhalmann Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused waylaid her on June 16 assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences.
I O said a case under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restrain), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been registered and further investigations are on.
