To mark the 10th International Yoga Day, a district-level event was held today here on the premises of ESI Hospital situated at Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar wherein hundreds of participants gave a clarion call to the people of Jalandhar to make Yoga an integral part of their daily routine for a healthy and happy life. This year the theme of the International Yoga Day was Yoga for Self and Society. 

Addressing the gathering during a district-level event, Director ESI Dr. Amarjit said that since ages Yoga has been a tradition in India for a healthy and progressive life. He said that nowadays when stressful living and lifestyle diseases are posing a serious risk to human lives, Yoga could be very helpful in keeping us away from diseases. He also exhorted people to ensure that they spare at least an hour for Yoga daily so that they reap the benefits of a healthy life.

Earlier, District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Veenu Khanna welcome the dignitaries on their arrival at the district-level event. The expert doctors from the Ayurvedic department including Dr. Anita, Dr. Yogesh, and Dr. Manu Hallan imparted training to several participants about different Yoga Asanas. Dr. Rupali Kohli, Dr. Dalvir Kaur, Dr. Ritika Bali Dr. Chetan Mehta were also present on the occasion.

Today, Vajra Corps also celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga, conforming to this year's theme "Yoga for Self and Society’. across all its stations. Simple Yoga protocols including Asanas, Pranayama, and Dhyana sessions were organized for all ranks and their families focusing on improving physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

 

 

            At the end of the session, a Pledge was taken by all the participants to commit themselves to ensuring self-discipline and include Yoga as an integral part of their lifestyle.
