The Mehat Pur police on Monday arrested four drug peddlers including a woman during CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) conducted in hot drug spot villages.
Station House Officer (SHO) Gurshinder Kaur said that the accused had been identified as Raj Kaur wife of Surjit Singh a resident of Dharme Dian Chhnana village and recovered from her 4 kilograms of poppy husk, Surjit Singh alias Seeta son of Chan Singh a resident of the same village and recovered from him 10 grams heroin, Rs 94000 drug money, four gold rings, a pair of earrings, a car and a tractor.
SHO said 7 kilograms of poppy husk was recovered from Paramjit Singh son of Jagir Singh a resident of Umre Wal village, and 150 intoxicant tablets were recovered from Vikram Singh son of Des Raj a resident of the same village.
SHO said that cases under different sections of the NDPS have been registered against the accused.
The Nakodar Sadar police arrested drug peddler Varinder Singh alias Matti son of Gian Chand of Shankar village with 210 intoxicant tablets and impounded his motorcycle said the investigating officer, Harjit Singh.
