The Nurmahal police have arrested a thief on the charge of stealing battera from a house.
Station House Officer (SHO) V P Singh said that the accused has been identified as Kuldeep Kumar son alias Mannak son of Kashmiri Lal a resident of Rame Wal village under Bilga police station.
Joginder Singh a resident of Kot Khan village has complained to the police that the accused barged into his old house on May 17 in broad daylight and stole a battera.
SHO said a case under section 454(lurking house-trespass and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC was registered against the accused and recovered stolen item from his possession and impounder of his motorcycle. The accused was presented in a court which remanded him in police custody for one day.
