JALANDHAR

Jalandhar (rural) police on Sunday conducted a special operation ‘Operation CASO ‘in drug hot spot villages.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jalandhar range Harmandir Singh and Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintend of Police Dr.Ankur Gupta   led this search operation as directed by DGP Gourav  Yadav.

Doctor Gupta said in a press release that during this operation 15 grams of heroin was seized from Babali wife of Kashmira Lala a resident of Ganna Pind village under Phillaur police station and a car and a motorcycle standing in a doubtful condition a case under section 21 -B/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Phillaur police station.

The press release said 260 intoxicant tablets were recovered from Jeet Ram alias Jita alias Kalu son of Joginder Singh a resident of Kingra Cho Wala village and a case under section 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Bhog Pur police station and rounded 75 suspicious persons.

 

Doctor Gupta said the rural police had recovered 305 grams of heroin,606 kilograms and 810 grams of poppy husk, and 1,200 kg of opium from 19 drug peddlers and registered 14 cases in May.
