The Nurmahal police have charged Harash Kumar
a resident of Ahiya Pur village under Tanda police station in Hoshiar Pur district, his father Ravinder Kumar and mother Shashi Sondhi with dowry harassment.
Neelam wife Harash Kumar a resident of Mohalla Krishna Nagar Nurmahal complained to
Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police that she had been tortured for dowry ever since her marriage and used abusive language against her.
Investigating officer Varinder Mohan Singh said a case under section 406
(breach of trust) and 498-A(torturing woman for dowry) has been registered
after an inquiry and no arrests had been made.
