NURMAHAL/NAKODAR
A Punjab-origin man opened fire at two cousin sisters from a Nurmahal village in Roosevelt Avenue, West Carteret in New Jersey USA one sister died on the spot and the other sustained serious injuries. The assailant identified as Gaurav Gill hailing from Hastinapur village near Nakodar has been arrested by the US police.
According to media reports, Jasvir Kaur (29) alias Manne daughter of Kewal Singh a resident of Gorsian Peeran village under Nurmahal police station died on the spot whereas her cousin's sister Gagan aged 20 was seriously injured.
Gaurav Gill and Jasvir Kaur’s cousin sister Gagan's daughter of Nirmal Singh did IELTS together in Jalandhar. Jasvir Kaur was married, and her husband was a truck driver. The injured girl was airlifted for admission to Newark Hospital.
It took 6 hours for police to arrest Gaurav Gill whose brother lives in Nakodar whereas his father works in an Arab country and his mother is a housewife.
