The Lambrra police have arrested two journalists on the charges of extortion.
Station House Officer (SHO) Balbir Singh said that the alleged accused had been identified as
Press reporters David son of Saimual a resident of Buta Pind locality and Aman son of Rakesh a resident of Deep Nagar Jalandhar Cantt.
SHO said that the accused extorted money from a grass-cylinder vehicle adding that the accused confessed during the investigation that they extorted money from the complainant and some money was received through UPI on a friend's mobile number.
SHO said a case under sections 384 (extortion) 341(wrongful restraint) 506(criminal intimidation) 34 (committing the crime with common intention ) and 120-B(Criminal Conspiracy ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
