Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has urged officials to design skill development courses tailored to the requirements of the local industry, aiming to bridge the gap between industrialists and unemployed youth. Chairing a meeting with representatives from the industry and government departments, Dr. Aggarwal stressed the importance of preparing a detailed information chart on the manpower needs of local businesses. This approach will help in crafting future skill development courses that align with industry demands, thereby enhancing youth employability.

Dr. Aggarwal highlighted that understanding the industry's demand is crucial for planning future actions effectively. He also proposed launching a motivational drive among school and ITI students by organizing tours to local industries. This initiative aims to increase students' understanding of skill development and its benefits as they will also get encouraged to become future entrepreneurs. Additionally, he emphasized the need to showcase success stories among students to demonstrate how skill development can spur their socio-economic growth.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the proper implementation of skill development programs could significantly reduce unemployment and address various social issues. In the meeting, he also reviewed the progress of the c-pyte center, issuing directives to include as many youths as possible in this course to prepare them for joining the Armed Forces. The collaborative effort aims to create a skilled workforce that meets the local industry's needs while providing employment opportunities for the youth.

Earlier, Dr. Aggarwal took stock of the steps being taken under the aspiration block program. He directed the concerned officials to improve all important indicators under this scheme to ensure its effective implementation. Notably, Shahkot Block has been declared an Aspirational Block to further improve various health, education, basic infrastructure in this block.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Mahajan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lakhvinder Singh Randhawa, representatives of the industry, and officials from various departments.
