Two Kapurthala residents booked for illegal mining

 The Lohian Khas police have booked two Kapurthala district residents for the illegal excavation of earth from near Dhussi Bandh of River Sutlej.

  Officially communicated to the police said illegal excavation of earth from Dhussi Bandh of Sutlej in Mandala Chhana village near Dhussi Bandh has been reported.

He said the president of the flood stoppage committee in Giddpindi village Kulwinder Singh phoned the department about the illegal excavation of earth in village Mandala which is damaging Dhussi Bundh and has created a danger of a breach in Bandh in the coming monsoon season and Kuldeep Singh and Sharajit Singh residents of Bharoana village under Kabir Pur police station in Kapurthala are indulging in illegal mining of earth without any permission.      

 

Investigating Officer (IO) Parwinder Singh said a case under Section 21 of the Punjab Mines Act 1957 has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
