SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked a villager car owner on the charge of killing a pit dog.

The Investigating Officer (IO) and Malsian police post in-charge Kewal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Balraj Singh son of Balwinder Singh a resident of Nihaloo Wal village under Lohian Khas village.

Sudagar Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused was his neighbour and his land was adjoining his land.

He said that he and his servant were standing at his well's turn to go home on the June 5 evening and the accused was also going to the village in his car (PB-67-C4344).

Sudagar Singh said his 7-month-old pit dog (Jerman Shephard) was coming toward him and the accused knowingly crushed to death his pit dog beneath his car’s tires and loudly said that he had done his job, and you do what you wanted to do and fled away.

The complainant said he rushed his dog to Rupe Wal Village Veterinary Hospital where a post-mortem was done.

IO said a case under section 429(mischief by killing or maiming cattle etc.) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
