A district level Kisan Mela is going to be held in Dhingra palace Kotkapura road Faridkot on June 12 to provide the farmers latest information about the Kharif crops.
The Mela is being held on the directions of Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and director agriculture.
“The theme of the Mela is”Rabbi Dattan Bachiya,Ghone Di Parali Nu Khet Vich Vahia.The main focus would be to bring down stubble burning incidents to zero, farmers would be given special information about cotton crop and all other areas of the Kharif crops would be covered. The agriculture experts from PAU Ludhiana,agriculture department and progressive farmers would share their latest information with the farmers,” said Dr Amrik Singh, chief agriculture officer Faridkot.
But due to the elections, a large-scale burning of wheat stubble in Punjab went unnoticed as nobody could dare to crack a whip on the violations because of elections.
Dr Amrik Singh held a meeting of the officials of the department to ensure that most of the farmers participate in it to make the most of the expertise of the scientist.
