The Shahkot police have arrested the second accused on the charges of attempting to murder a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the arrested accused had been identified as, Taranjit Singh alias Kalu son of Kuldeep Singh alias Kaka a resident of Udho Wal village.
Lovpreet Singh a resident of Parjian Khurd village had complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on 24 May attacked him with sharp-edged weapons to kill and seriously injure and threatened him.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,326(voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 506(criminal intimidation), and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC was registered against the accused.
