The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Ludhiana villager on the charge of assaulting a villager.
They are investigating officer (IO) Davinder Singh that the accused has been identified as Aman son of Bhagwan Singh a resident of Made Pur village under Sidhama Bet police station in Ludhiana.
Gurcharan Singh a resident of Gounsu Wal village station had complained to the police that the accused attacked him on May 11, seriously injured him and threatened him with dire consequences brandishing firearms.
IO said a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt) 506(criminal; intimidation) and148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and others.
