The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested three
criminals alleged to have gang raped a minor girl on Friday night.
Investigating officer (IO) Inspector Arashdeep Kaur said that the accused had been identified as
Sukha son of Jagdeeh Singh a resident of Sarinh village and Manni a resident of Nawan Pind Shaunkian village.
IO said the accused were part of a four-member gang involved in the
crime. The other accused have been identified as Hamraj Singh’ son of Gurpreet Singh a resident of Udho Pur village under Jalandhar Sadar police station and Raja a resident of Chak Kalan village.
The victim complained to the police that the accused with common intention kidnapped her on May 28, took her to a secluded and deserted place and forcibly established physical relations with her.
IO said that a case under sections 376 -D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 6,17, of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab others adding that the medical examination of the victim was performed which confirmed gang rape.
