The Adampur police have registered a case in an incident near the polling booth at village Wadala in the Adampur assembly constituency, which falls under the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency.

Deputy commissioner cum DEO Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that as a fight happened between some persons near the polling booth at Wadala, security forces immediately stopped them. He said that after the statements recorded by Jalandhar rural police and preliminary investigation, an FIR had been lodged at Adampur police station on the complaint filed by Tajinder Singh, a Congress party polling agent who had to be hospitalized after the attack.
 The case has been registered against Bhupinder Singh, Harjinder Singh, Ranjit Singh residents of village Wadala, and Jaswant Ram residents of village Mansoorpur.

 A case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt), 341(wrongful restraint,) 506(criminal intimidation), and 34(committing crime with common intention )of IPC has been registered against the accused.

DC said that the incident didn’t affect the voting process.
