The Mehat Pur police have booked a youth on the charge of kidnapping a minor.
Investigating officer (IO) Harwinder Singh said that the accused had been identified as Balkar Singh son of Kulwinder Singh, a Vali Pur Khurd village resident under Jagraon police station in Ludhiana district.
Dalvir Kaur wife of Rakesh Kumar a resident of Bath Kalan village complained to the police that the accused kidnapped her minor daughter by inducing her on the pretext of marriage.
IO said that a case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (Kidnapping, abducting, or inducing a woman to compel her marriage,) of the IPC has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is on.
