To increase the percentage of votes in this Lok Sabha Elections, the District Election Officer and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GOI, and Jalandhar jointly organizing awareness activities under SVEEP in the district.
A Flash Mob activity was organized today at Devi Sahai SD Sr. Sec. School, Sodal Road here where a large number of youngsters performed to aware voters to use their franchise for the progress of the country.
A team of artists, organized by the District Election Office, performed outside the school to give a message to passersby to vote. A performance of Bhangra on the time of 'Jalandhar Ik Gal Note Kar, Ik June Nu Vote Kar' was also staged.
A random quiz contest on electoral process was also organised by the CBC and winners were awarded.
CBC's Field Publicity Officer Rajesh Bali said that his department is jointly organising such awareness activities under the guidance of DC cum District Election Officer, Himanshu Aggarwal to aware voters to vote for strengthening the Democracy. He called upon the voters especially the youth and first-time voters to vote and contribute to the progress of the Nation. He said these youngsters are the Election Ambassadors who would encourage others also to vote.
Some enthusiastic first-time voters while sharing their happiness for becoming part of the Nation building by casting their votes happily sang in unison 'Loktantra Sey Kartey Hain Pyar Hum, Vote Dalney Ko Hain Tayar Hum'. They and others clicked themselves at the SVEEP Selfie Point to remember the moment.
School Principal Sanjeev Sharma administered the voters' pledge to all present on the occasion.
Ms Anusha Pinto, Punjab Good Governance Fellow of
Directorate of Governance Reforms represented the District Election Officer, Jalandhar, and motivated youngsters to participate in the election process to vote and help others to vote.
