The Mehat Pur police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of snatching cash, and a mobile from a woman.
Investigating Officer (IO) Davinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amrjit Singh son of Surjit Singh a resident of Rai Pur village and Satpal alias Pala son of Gurnam Singh a resident of Vehran village.
Neha wife of Sarabjit Singh a resident of Mohalla Khurla Pur Mehat Pur complained to the police that she was returning home on May 23 when two motorcycle-borne accused snatched his purse containing Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone.
IO said that a case under sections 379-(theft ) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and recovered a snatched smartphone and Rs 560 from their possession.
