The Nakodar City police have charged two persons including a woman with cheating and conspiracy.
Investigating office (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Narinder Kaur wife of Jarnail Singh a resident of Meera Pur village and Manjit Kumar son of Dev Raj a resident of Bath Kalan village under Mehat Pur police station.
Sukhjinder Singh a resident of Mudhan village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that the accused with common intention tampered with land records and sold land mortgaged in his name and thus cheated him.
IO said that SSP marked an inquiry to the economic wing the concerned deputy superintendent of police submitted a report and the district attorney (legal) recommended the registration of a case against the accused and a case under sections 406(breach of trust) 420(cheating) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy ) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
