The Nurmahal police have booked a man on the charge of raping his wife living in separation.
Investigating Officer (IO) Inspector Arshpreet Kaur in charge of Media Cell Jalandhar(rural) said that the accused has been identified as Manjinder Singh Tagarr son of Lashkar Singh a resident of Nurmahal.
The victim complained to the police that she has been living in separation for the last six years and the accused barged into her house on May 19 early morning and forcibly established physical relations with her, but she could not raise an alarm due to family problems and legal action be taken against the accused
IO said a case under section 376-B (sexual intercourse by husband upon his wife during separation) has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
