General observer visits polling stations in Nakodar - reviews polling arrangements



JALANDHAR

General Observer for the 04 Jalandhar Parliamentary Constituency, Mr. J. Meghantha Reddy on Monday conducted a visit to polling stations in Nakodar to review the polling arrangements besides checking at various Nakas across the district.

During his visit along with ARO Gursimran Singh and Dr Jai Inder Singh, Mr. Reddy reviewed the arrangements made by the district administration to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Reddy emphasized that, under the Election Commission of India's (ECI) mandate, all necessary arrangements have been established across the polling stations. He noted that special efforts are being undertaken to prevent the use of money and muscle power during the elections, with special Nakas set up at multiple strategic locations.

Interacting with the staff deployed at these Nakas, Mr. Reddy instructed them to conduct thorough checks of suspicious vehicles and individuals passing through. He stressed the importance of vigilance and thoroughness in their duties to uphold the integrity of the election process. 

He urged the staff to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to maintain the highest standards of electoral integrity.

This visit underscores the proactive steps being taken by the electoral authorities in Jalandhar to safeguard the democratic process, ensuring that the elections are conducted smoothly and without any malpractice.
